Zepto is a small JavaScript package used for AJAX queries and DOM manipulation. Its syntax and capabilities are similar to jQuery’s, but it is much smaller (less than 5KB when minified and gzipped) and made to work with the latest and greatest versions of popular web browsers. For working with DOM components, like adding and removing classes, changing attributes, and responding to events, there is an API that is easy to use.
It also has several useful utility methods, like $.extend for merging multiple objects and $.param for serializing form input for AJAX submission. Zepto’s AJAX request implementation is light and easy to use. It supports JSONP and lets you create unique HTTP headers and DOM manipulation.
