We studied the laptop market and selected different models with the most outstanding technical parameters. We also considered the price of the models – after all, a schoolboy or a student hardly needs a premium ultrabook but wants to save money on a new phone and write my essay online service. All devices in the review have the best price-to-quality ratio.

1. Lenovo Ideapad 330-15ICH

If you are only interested in performance and nothing else, this model will suit you as well as possible. The components are Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 as the graphics card, Intel Core i5 8300H as the processor, and the unchanged 8GB RAM. This trio makes this model a monster that can handle almost any heavy application.

We pay for the lack of a suitable matrix for good computing power. Here is the most usual TFT TN. Also, forget about the SDD and the two slots for RAM, which is quite strange with such a good duo consisting of a graphics card and a processor. In addition, the laptop will be without an operating system.

The model does not stand out from the rest of the other indicators. 8 hours of battery life, a screen with a diagonal of 15.6 inches, and a weight of 2.2 kg. The model is controversial and will not suit everyone, but we could not avoid mentioning it in our top: after all, some users are ready to turn a blind eye to everything for performance.

2. ASUS VivoBook S15 S530FN

It is one of the most balanced models on the market in terms of value for money. The device runs on the Intel Core i7-8565U processor, which saw the light at the end of 2018. It has four cores and eight threads, enough for resource-intensive applications.

In addition, 8 GB of RAM is inside, which has long been the standard for laptops for work and study. A full HD screen with a diagonal of 15.6 inches is based on an IPS matrix. The graphics solution is the MX150, a time-tested graphics card. The VivoBook S15, on the other hand, is a versatile solution suitable for various activities.

The device’s weight is 1.8 kg, making it easy to carry. The chips of the model should be noted with a well-thought cooling system: when you open the laptop, the cover rises above the surface, forming a slight angle under the keyboard.

This makes typing more comfortable and allows the laptop to cool more effectively. The appearance of the device is very laconic due to the thin frame, but users note that the laptop’s body quickly gets dirty.

3. Acer Nitro 5

This is one of the few laptops based on the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U processor, which lags behind the popular Intel Core i7-8565U by 20% on average. But that’s not the main advantage of the model either. Acer has taken care of users who care about processing power in games and graphics applications.

The role of the graphics adapter is AMD Radeon RX 560X, which has 4 GB of video memory. In this price range, finding other representatives with similar graphics filling is pretty challenging; Acer Nitro 5 is an excellent choice for beginner designers working with 3D models.

Otherwise, we have the standard characteristics: IPS matrix with a diagonal of 15.6 inches, Full HD resolution, and 8 GB of RAM. Two builds are available for sale: Linux and Windows 10. The advantages of this model are shallow operating temperatures, a backlit keyboard, and 2 RAM slots. Among the downsides: are the weight of 2.7 kg and large size, which makes the laptop not the best choice to carry around often.

4. HP 15-dw0008ur

It is almost a complete analog of the model from ASUS, only with minor differences and from a different brand. 8 GB of RAM, Full HD, IPS, and even a similar processor – Intel Core i5-8265U.

The same 4 cores and 8 threads deliver identical performance, even though it’s an i5 instead of an i7. The video card takes the place of the MX 130, which is weaker than the MX, as mentioned earlier, 150 by 15% on average. But then why choose this model and not the one from ASUS, you may ask?

It’s simple. HP has emphasized battery life, which is more than 10 hours! In addition, an SSD drive (256 GB) is connected via an M.2 socket rather than a standard HDD. It turns out that by sacrificing performance, we get high battery life and fast data processing. This makes this laptop a good choice if you need to frequently perform undemanding tasks: working in Word, surfing the Internet, and so on.

5. Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3

In the mid-price segment, Xiaomi follows the same path as HP – sacrificing performance in favor of battery life and fast performance in office applications. As the computer heart of the Mi Notebook Air 13.3 model is installed, a member of the younger Intel family – i3 8130U, which has two cores and four threads.

The model also has 8 GB of RAM, running at a relatively high frequency for laptops, 2400 MHz. However, you will not find a discrete graphics card here, only a built-in solution in the form of Intel UHD Graphics 620.

But the main feature of the model is good battery life. The model will last 9 hours without recharging – an excellent result for a laptop. At the same time, the device weighs only 1.3 kg and has a modest size, which is more like a tablet: 309x210x14 mm.

Thanks to its mobility, the model will be convenient to carry to class. However, it should be understood that the compact size is not compatible with a large diagonal. Here, it is only 13.3 inches (but the resolution remains 1920×1080).

Some of the additional features of the Xiaomi laptop are 2 USB 3.0 Type-A, a fingerprint scanner, a metal body, and a backlit keyboard. This model is suitable for simple everyday tasks, even better than the representative of the company HP. But if the HP 15-dw0008ur can somehow compete in resource-intensive applications with competitors, you should not expect this from Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 at all.

6. DELL Inspiron 3780

Dell, in the mid-price segment, has chosen its unique strategy. The stuffing of this laptop is pretty standard: Intel Core i5 8265U, 8 GB of RAM, and not much different from the competition in terms of performance video card AMD Radeon 520.

The main distinguishing feature of the model is the Full HD screen with a diagonal of 17.3 inches! The matrix at the same time, TFT IPS. Users note the sound color reproduction and wide viewing angles: these characteristics make the gadget an excellent choice for work in graphic applications. In addition to its predisposition to design tasks, the device boasts a tandem of two drives: SSD + HDD. The speed of the hard drive heads, however, is only 5400 rpm. But SSD connected via the M.2 interface more than makes up for the slowness of the hard drive.

But there are some disadvantages as well. Because of the large diagonal the developers got big dimensions: 415x279x25. This is the bulkiest representative on our list. Because of the immodest size, the laptop’s weight was 2.8 kg, which is also a record in the selection. In addition, it should be noted that the device comes with a Linux operating system pre-installed, which will cause many people to refuse to buy it.
