Tom Skerritt is an American actor and director with over 170 film and television credits. He gained prominence with roles in MASH* (1970), Alien (1979), and Top Gun (1986). Skerritt starred in the TV series Picket Fences (1992–1996), earning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He also had a recurring role on Cheers (1987–1988).
